NBA All Star 2005



This weekend has been celebrated in Denver the 54th NBA All-Star Game.

The party of basketball was begun on Friday with the got milk? Rookie Challenge. Carmelo Anthony carried Sophomores to win against Rookies 133-106. Then Carmelo Anthony earned the MVP of this challenge on Denver, where Carmelo plays with his team Denver Nuggets. Chris Bosh added 26 points for the winners while Kyle Korver netted 21 on the strength of seven 3-pointers. Tony Allen, Luol Deng and Al Jefferson each scored 17 points for the Rookies.

On Saturday, the spectacle began with Radioshack Shooting Stars that was earned by Phoenik team composed by Shawn Marion, Diana Taurasi and Dan Majerle. The PlayStation Skills Challenge was earned by Steve Nash of Phoenix Suns, who won Earl Boykins in final.

The Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout wasn't have a good level of averages, but had very emotion. The victory was for Quentin Richardson from Phoenix Suns too, against Kyle Korver of Philadelphia Sixers.

The Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk was very spectacular, and it earned by Josh Smith of Atlanta Hawks, who made a Tomahawk of Dominique Wilkins with 'Nique jersey and hitting Wilkins' signature windmill slam. Josh Smith did a very good slum over Kenyon Martin too.

During all of the All-Star NBA weekend there are a lot of celebrities that don't want loose this event.

On the All-Star Game, the Eastern Conference of Allen Iverson and Shaquille O'Neil was defeated the West 125-115. There were good plays too by Lebron James, Grant Hill, Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade, Ilgauskas from East, and from West: Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, Ray Allen, Dirk Nowitski, Steve Nash and Adamare Stoudemire.

The Most Valuous Player on All-Star Game was Allen Iverson from East. MVP Iverson scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists, that he made to Vince Carter, Zydrunas Ilgauskas or LeBron James. Allen Iverson said he was tired and lightheaded during the day, probably because of Denver's mile-high altitude. He also won the award the last time the East won, in 2001. He scored 15 points over the last nine minutes then for a 111-110 victory, after the East had trailed by 21.
